Works like a charm and produces even, straight slices.
Make sure the bread is fully inserted. Whenever I've had an uneven slice, a corner of the bread wasn't fully in the slicer. We only use the thinnest setting, about 1/4"-5/16" thick. So it can make thin slices. Of course, if it's that thin, the bread will shred rather than slice unless your knife is very sharp.
