I wanted to like this USB external sleeve (there are 4 of them) but got sent back

I liked this USB sleeve at first. The hard drive can be inserted and removed from the housing very quickly and easily. But it has a big bug that Sabrent support couldn't fix. After 10-15 minutes of non-use (I have USB enclosures as backup drives) the hard drive turns off and stops spinning. This means that you have to wait 15 to 20 seconds for the hard drive to fully spin up to full speed each time you access it. In these cases I had 4 hard drives all running at the same time and constantly WAITING for them all day while moving backup files onto them was just becoming unbearable. Yes, I checked my power settings to see if they aren't working. It's not set to turn off to save power when not in use, and yes, I've looked through all of my USB hub's settings in Device Manager to make sure it's not set to use the Power turns off when not in use. My complaint is on the other hand, but not the problem is that the fan seems small and poorly placed under the hard drive. There isn't much airflow between the bottom of the USB drive box and the floor. I don't know if this will be an issue of drives overheating over time.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poor instructions
