So much wax - looks like plastic

I was so pleased to get this... great price 0.6mm on a spool so many good colors! HOWEVER there is so much wax on it that it looks like plastic rope and is very sticky. It should be 0.6mm thick, but there is so much wax in it that it's thicker than my 1mm thread. Also, the thread is flattened, not round at all as thread should be, and cannot readily be used with beads. How anyone can make something useful out of it I don't know. So disappointing.
