Review on 🎧 Enhanced Ortofon Nightclub MKII Stylus: Ultimate Replacement Solution for DJs by Chris Edgerton

Revainrating 3 out of 5

They don't last too long.

I bought new instruments in March 2017 and noticed a severe deterioration in the playback quality of some records. Thunder by Dave Clark and Just Flat and Dry by Oscar Mulero. Clark's record has more noise on one stylus than the other, and Oscar's track sounds more distorted than usual. I can see a difference in the accuracy of the stylus I use to preview recordings before doing a studio mix with them as this table is used more and more. These needles also appear to cause visible damage to the grooves on fresh records, you can actually see where the needle has been which is a problem. I should probably look into other carts but for now I will continue to use these. Replacement needles are also quite expensive and I can now see how short their lifespan is. My favorite turntable stylus was the original Stanton Trackmaster stylus. It had such a warm and cozy sound.
