Review on 📏 Stanley 33-525 25ft 1-inch PowerLock Tape Measure by Dragan Nelson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

They ruined the first foot of the tape with a 1/32 mark visual mess.

As a carpenter, I prefer this tape measure: It feels good in the hand, isn't too bulky or complicated, but still makes hundreds of measurements a week on the construction site. However, there are two problems with the new design: 1) They recently added 1/32" markings for the first foot of the tape. This makes reading unnecessarily chaotic and confusing. This is not a caliper or an architect's scale. This is a tape measure designed to work quickly and smoothly. Now I have to hold the tape measure at the 12" mark and then do math to get accurate readings for small measurements because I can't do 1/32 increment counts 20 times a day with repeatability. 2) Plastic "mouth" The tape measure is large enough that when you pull it back, the tape sometimes gets caught on the sides. Not a big deal but after only a few times the tape cut a groove in the plastic and now it stays there every time. Previously, the Stanley tape measure served me at least 3-5 years of regular use. I bought three of these this year and only one is still working.
