While not a perfect product, it is certainly better than many reviews suggest, for which I have to blame the reviewers themselves directly. Many of them don't seem to know how much power the devices they use are actually using, or realize that the displays they see about the power consumption of their devices only show the average power consumption and not the peak consumption. For example a 1000 watt oven. can easily increase to 1500 watts at startup or for short periods during use. This is normal behavior for many, but not most, high-performance devices. You don't typically find this information in advertisements or even in product manuals. The only way to know for sure is to use the ammeter or wattmeter built into the device. Otherwise you're just guessing about the actual power consumption, which isn't really fair for the purposes of the test. While I haven't tested this device to its full capacity, the advertised performance seems to perform reasonably well so far, and the components at least look like they were built for the advertised load capacity. The build quality also seems to be okay. So far I have no reason to believe that the product will not withstand the stress advertised. However, I'm taking two stars off the product rating because, rather oddly, they suggest that consumers should be able to perform board-level repairs themselves. replace fuse. Do you honestly think that the average consumer is able or willing to desolder components on a circuit board and re-solder new components when a fuse blows? This is not only a crazy assumption, but also dangerous as consumers may be exposed to the lethal voltage still stored in the product's capacitors. The average person has no idea how to safely solder or desolder electronic components and should never be asked to do so. I'm genuinely shocked (no pun intended) that some companies are advising their customers to do this type of repair themselves. For those who are not experienced electronics technicians, it would be dangerous and foolish to attempt such repairs on your own. If you're a seasoned locksmith like me with over 30 years of experience, the above shouldn't pose much of a problem. If not, I would be extremely wary of any advice this company gives regarding DIY repairs.
