This is much easier to work with than glue. Instead of applying sticky glue for several sessions/days, you simply stick the tape on the rim, fight the tire, remove the protective film between the tape and the tire, done. This process is much gentler than gluing - if you make a small mistake, it's very easy to fix. For example, centering a tire on a rim is very simple. Removing the tires is also fairly easy and requires a lot less cleaning work compared to gluing. However, I must point out that some cleaning is required both after the tape has been applied and after the tire has been removed. It's a lot less work than handling glue.
