Carogna Tubular Gluing Tape Wide Review

Fits my front tires but I ran two rear tires. I think at 195 pounds the rear end isn't strong enough to flex in cyclocross. I followed all the instructions but the stickiness wasn't enough. I gave up after the second tire run over and went back to Mastic One. If you're lighter, that could be great. From the beginning it was easy. The cleaning is so fantastic compared to traditional tape and mastic. The adhesive is easy to remove and you're ready to install straight away.

Don't waste your time and money. I completely cleaned the HED Belgium wheelset with Carogna glue remover and then installed the new CX Racing Ralphs set with tape following the instructions and videos. The assembly was quick and easy and after almost 2 days of standing the tires seemed to stick very well. Both tires rolled on a rim on a dry grass hill, front in 2 spots and rear all the way, at 26psi front and 28psi rear. The tape might be good for road work, but it can't handle the CX.

This is much easier to work with than glue. Instead of applying sticky glue for several sessions/days, you simply stick the tape on the rim, fight the tire, remove the protective film between the tape and the tire, done. This process is much gentler than gluing - if you make a small mistake, it's very easy to fix. For example, centering a tire on a rim is very simple.
