Here is the story of why my 3 star rating is made. I got the rope light only to find that the 1 meter section was not lit. (See photo.) Apart from one defect, the light hose met my requirements. I accepted Revane's offer to send me a replacement with a promise to return the defective one. A few days later I received a replacement/second string of lights. And he didn't pass the exam either. The lights did not respond properly to the remote control. (See video clip.) Other tests and results: Both remotes work, one light cord works, and one receiver/transformer works. I gathered what worked and sent the rest to Revane. A few weeks later, my part selection is still working. Here are some observations about the rope lantern. It is well encapsulated but very flexible. The RF remote control is powerful. You can control the light from over 60 feet away, which is the limit of my testing. The light is bright even when the remote control is set to the lowest brightness. The colors are correct ie green looks green, orange looks orange etc. (My video clip on my phone doesn't show the colors correctly). quickly. Be careful if there is someone in your family who is sensitive to flashbulbs. According to the "Technical Description" no batteries are required. The remote control requires two AAA alkaline batteries. The shipping box said it contained lithium batteries. No batteries, period.
