My daughter and I each ordered these for a beach trip primarily because they were stylish and the hat has a neck cord. Ours each arrived in a box with a plastic hat form to help keep the hat from damage in shipping. I saved the plastic form and traveled with it in a carry on beach bag. My daughter folded hers taco style inside her suitcase. Both ways traveled well! The neck cord worked well for boat rides and we just tucked it inside the hat when not needed. We both love our hats and will probably order another one in a different color.
