I am building a new media server and wanted expandability for the future. I took CL's CoolerMaster Stryker which has 9 5.25" drive bays and knew what to do. I have 6 drives to put this thing in now! I'll eventually run it on unRaid with 3 parity drives and 12 data drives. Not to mention my 4 hard drive bay case which will add 4 more data drives. My only real complaints are the price, the thin material of the hard drive trays and the fact that they don't accommodate the protruding tabs of the 5.25-inch drive bay. As one reviewer pointed out, I had to bend all the tabs before installing them. Why didn't they just leave small gaps on the sides of the case to accommodate the lugs? $100+ is a lot for something with such poor build quality, but if you're trying to maximize your expansion options, go for it. There are competitors that sell 4-bay 3.5" bays that fit the same 3 5.25" bays for about half the price, but I really wish I had the extra drive per bay , which offers Icy Dock. Eventually I decided to replace the fan on each cage with Noctua NF-B9 to improve cooling and reduce noise - no, I'm just being stupid.
