Weigh the good and the bad

It's a mix of likes and dislikes, if you know what you're doing it's an easy substitute. We bought this for a friend who needed to replace his iPad's screen. He knew what he was doing, there's one important thing you need to know about buying this screen: If you're using Touch ID as a passcode, I'd suggest paying someone to fix it, or paying Apple to do it. I know the inconvenience of some questions. But if you don't do it right, it can cause problems with the motherboard or the circuit board on the motherboard. The reason I say this is that if you damage the smallest part, you're done. There is a part on the board that works with the fingerprint option. The problem is that when you buy a motherboard or part, the missing part has to be soldered. Upon review, we find that the fingerprint has a chip that connects to the screen to work. So if you messed something up, you need to go to a professional. Otherwise it was in perfect condition. So I'd suggest buying the full kit so you have that part when you need it, just in case. But if you don't use a fingerprint reader then you're fine, but like those with fingerprint reader capability, I'd go the other way.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
