Eco-conscious choice
I love these walnut sponges. They're good enough to loosen dried food from plates. They really take some getting used to as they don't seem to clean as effectively as synthetic based products. But I'd rather use them knowing that all the little bits of fermentation pads that wear out during use are biodegradable. I was concerned that synthetic-based products wear out, which means small pieces of synthetic material get washed down the drain and eventually end up in our rivers and oceans. These nutshell pods are worth a little extra effort.
