Despite my initial 2 star rating, I really love this controller. However, this controller has a few glaring flaws that really need to be considered before purchasing. What's Good?: · It's recognized by the system as a professional controller, not a GameCube controller, and has all the extra buttons you need to use. this with every game on the switch! · Same motion control features as professional controllers. · Fits perfectly in the hand, just the right weight. · Buttons and joysticks on the face look the same as in the original. · Much better D-Pad compared to the original GameCube controller! Really bad: · It's big. The triggers aren't analog, and while item descriptions claim it's the best option for playing Smash, the lack of analog just makes this controller dated when it comes to serious Smash play (very disappointing, PowerA!). Non-rechargeable batteries in 2018? I could live without it if it had analog triggers, but it just feels like pushing the boundaries. No vibration on a $50 controller, 2018 guys again. · No built-in battery means no USB port for PC use, unlike a regular professional controller (not massive, but still!). is that terrible no Is it worth $50? no This is a seriously missed opportunity, simply falling short due to poor design choices, likely in favor of compromise. I would honestly give it 5 stars if it had analog triggers and just ignore all other flaws, but without them it barely justifies half its retail price (probably because it's officially licensed, the price is being forced on you). Honestly, I'd pay over $100 for a normal working GameCube style controller updated for modern times, but it's not.
