In the beginning we had a small container for crickets that could only be opened with a latch at the top, otherwise you could take off the whole lid and many crickets would run away while feeding our bearded dragon. More ran away during the night (although we never found out how). So we bought this larger container and haven't had a single runaway since! The tubes as well as the flaps that close when you take the tube out are just awesome. It makes it so easy to grab a pipe full of crickets and quickly pour them into the terrarium. Simply cover the open end with your hand to hold the crickets inside the tube until you're ready to release them. The lid closes behind to prevent the crickets in the container from escaping. We also bought another product which is cricket food and our BD loves it. The rock splits in half and you fill it with crickets, close the rock, place it in the terrarium, and then plug the small hole in the side. The crickets eventually emerge from the burrow, "feeding" the BD. It was almost impossible for one person to do this until we had whistles from that cricket keeper. The tubes make it so easy to move the crickets into the stone and you still have time to glue the stone together without any mess and without the crickets escaping!
