Does what it takes.

Making sure the lid latches on both sides is difficult as it looks like breaking it. The top door comes off too easily. Also, the caps on the tubes come off too easily. The round petals leading to the tubes also break off easily. They're pretty much useless. We don't even keep them there anymore. The food bowls slide too easily, we had to tape them shut because the food in the water gels slid and spilled everywhere. All in all it does what it's supposed to do and I'm happy with my purchase.

  • Good product for the price

Very smart. on Houses & Habitats

Such a cute cage. For those who don't know, crickets hide in dark pipes. All you have to do is shake the tube over an animal cage (bearded dragons, lizards, etc.) and a few crickets will fall out. The lid of each black tube is transparent so you can see how many crickets you have left. These cells stink. I have two of these so I can take turns. I put the newly purchased crickets in the new cage, add the remaining crickets from the other cage...then soak them a little in diluted bleach waterโ€ฆ

Useful. I recommend washing before use.

Use it to make feeding my beard easier. The black plastic tubes are textured on the inside to allow the crickets to move around more easily, but they contained small plastic shavings that should be washed off before use. Unfortunately the clear plastic caps on the vials are brittle and one has cracked and nearly broke in half the first time it is put on and I'm worried the access cap will break but so far it hasn't. A piece of tape holds the broken lid together, somewhat obstructing the viewโ€ฆ

Holy HUGE! best for small pets

I have a bad habit of not reading the full description. I bought a zoo keeper that once said it was small and it turned out to be very small. This time I thought a grumpy big would be perfect! After that has been said. Glad I screwed it up this time! I ordered 500 crickets and they all fit in this holder. Yes it's a bit cramped but with great egg carton stowage they do a great job! Some reviews said the holder had cracks or small protrusions not fully covering the holes, but mine was PERFECTโ€ฆ

DIFFICULT TO USE the best in Tubes & Tunnels

It didn't work for me at all. It is estimated that it can contain up to 100 crickets. The plastic bowls for water and food are too small and difficult to reach to fill. When you take out the tubes, the crickets have no place to hang around, they pile up and suffocate each other. Tubes require additional caps. If you pull out a tube filled with crickets without a cap on the open end, the crickets can crawl out. It was too small for the maximum load of crickets, the food and water bowls are tooโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • No achievement

Don't let the crickets escape!

In the beginning we had a small container for crickets that could only be opened with a latch at the top, otherwise you could take off the whole lid and many crickets would run away while feeding our bearded dragon. More ran away during the night (although we never found out how). So we bought this larger container and haven't had a single runaway since! The tubes as well as the flaps that close when you take the tube out are just awesome. It makes it so easy to grab a pipe full of crickets and
