This frame was just what I needed. I received a watercolor that was accepted for an exhibition and I'm a hungry artist! This simple black wood frame is just what I needed to frame my work for display. I removed the easel and didn't use the mat, but the plastic peeled off the backing easily, which I really liked as there were no scratches on the plastic and the painting was easy to apply. One reviewer said the closure would be next to your art. That's true, and it's not the best option for long-term use, but I do expect the buyer of my painting to frame the frame to their liking. You can always put a backing between the painting and the covers, I think I'll use a thin cardboard mat there! (Between the image and the covers.) A simple black wood frame is perfect (especially at this price point) for an artist to use to sell their work. Customers expect a "studio shot" in galleries, not a finished product.
