Gabriel G57040 ReadyMount Strut Assembly (Automotive) I purchased this rear shock along with the Gabriel front struts listed above. Simply pull back the side panel in the trunk without removing it to reveal the rear shock absorber. Do not remove the shock mount, but remove the large center nut on the shock using a closed-end wrench and a vise or a small open-end wrench to prevent the shock shaft from rotating when the nut is removed. I was able to remove the screw under the car without lifting the car but you can do this to make room but don't lift it too much and use a stand to be safe. 3/4 to 1.5 hours depending on ability and tools for both sides. Wrench required! Google for some illustrated tutorials. If you are having trouble getting the shock shaft into the small hole in the shock mount while under the vehicle, you can simply remove the shock mount from the top and place it over the shock shaft. The ride is marshmallow-like, but very teasing when you hit bumps. I would imagine that other cars might not be as mocking as Volvos are designed to be. Drives so smooth I'm still not used to the marshmallow feel and overall the car is much quieter despite being on 5 year old tires that need replacing. Time will tell how they hold up. ENJOY AND BLESS!
