Review on Husky 31423 Round Bar Weight Distribution Hitch: 1200 Lbs Max Tongue Capacity with Bolt-Together Ball Mount/Shank Assembly by Kobby Fairchild

I bought this for our new TT which is 7000 pounds dry and has a gross weight of 9000 pounds towing the TT with a 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. I never understood the science behind installing any of these devices. I know what they do and how they help, I just didn't know the science of measuring the drop and rise of your hitch and the rear of your tractor. The instructions were very clear and I've included some great YouTube videos as well. My first TT was probably a 7000lb GVW and I've never used a transfer hitch, only a sway bar with the same truck. This new TT weighs significantly more and I noticed that the rear still wobbles a bit despite the stabilizer. I can tell you that it is imperative that you understand the science and measurements behind raising and lowering your hitch. My original clutch has lift and although it was visible to the naked eye I have concluded that my new TT still wobbles. The connection was too high. On my new hitch I measure accordingly and before fully hitching the trailer I measured the height of my truck from the rear. After connecting I measured with no bars and the drop was almost 4 inches. After installing the counterweights, my truck was at 1/2 inch. I have yet to get going, but that will be within the next week. I will no longer drive with white knuckles. My only complaint is that this ad previously showed a really good rubber gripped pry bar for mounting brackets, but instead I was only given about a 2 foot length of galvanized pipe, but it still works. This transition hitch fits my TT well and matches my TT's drawbar weight and overall weight and is also economical.
