High performance, medium strength bonding allows for disassembly. Excellent UV resistance. Color stable sealing. Above and below the water line applications. 15-20 minute skin time helps keep jobs moving quickly. Medium strength - can be removed if rework or repair is necessary. Resistant to weathering, saltwater, and stresses caused by joint movement. Seals between mechanically fastened joints on wood, fiberglass, metal and most plastics above and below the waterline. Its superior UV resistance properties make this an ideal cosmetic sealant.

Excellent sealant but difficult to squeeze out a small bead

I really like this sealant for the outside seams of my RV. It seems to last a long time, has good adhesion, is a nice white color and doesn't yellow visibly (like your 4200 Sealer) although dirt can stick to it (I guess it's inevitable). But the last time I used this smaller tube, it was difficult to extrude a small bead without the help of a caulking gun. I bought another one for a minor touch up, saving money on the size of a caulking gun; but the last time i swore i would never buy this size

Sun Resistant

I have used this product on my boats to seal deck plates, hooks etc with great success. It was recommended to me by a local dealer to caulk the horizontal seams on my van. With my past success, I thought that was the ticket. Also, the name says UV so it should be great. not as much. All the stitches I did last year didn't work. After a year in the sun, the sealer turned ashen and started peeling off wherever I applied it. The previous sealer I used was just an exterior window sealer for theโ€ฆ

Great product from 3M.

This product, like all 3M products, is excellent. I used it to reseal the leaky joint between wheelhouse and deck. The previous seal/gasket has dried out, shriveled and cracked. I cut it out and filled the grout 4000. I cleaned the area with acetone, masked the grout and applied 4000 with a caulking gun. The sealant spread smoothly and completely filled the seam, easily sealing the leaking seam. This product is waterproof, so cleaning will be messy if you get it where you don't need it. It isโ€ฆ
