They do what they're supposed to.

I have neuropathy severe enough that my neurologist doesn't want me going barefoot anymore, for fear of injuries and falls. These are my compromise. They grip the floor, and I feel less unsteady walking down the hall. I don't love the individual toes - I would have preferred the kind that are more open at the toes - but at least they don't make my toes tingle and burn like regular socks do. I'll keep searching for the perfect open toe socks, but these will do nicely in the meantime.
