These aren't my favorite discs for regular output, but if I'm having trouble burning a particular AVCHD or high-volume DVD, I can use them to upgrade the media I use testing. Experience tells me that DVD+DL discs are the most problematic when it comes to complex recordings. These discs give me an audit trail to determine if my video editing, recording drive, or media is faulty. I rarely get cradles with Verbatim 95123 drives, but when I do I usually know to look elsewhere for the problem. 98319 discs, which have a large print area by default, are not a terrible loss. Time will tell if the new drives perform as well as the 95123 drives, but so far they seem to be doing pretty well. 95123's limited speed is probably the reason for its consistency, but I still like having some of these to test out. as long as my last two purchases last.
