The thing really works!

I recently bought a 2000 Volvo V70 and the wheels looked like they had never been cleaned. Nothing I've tried has been able to leave a mark on heavy, caked brake dust, including Purple Power, which I use to clean pretty much everything. This product did its job. However, I need some courage when your wheels are neglected for as long as mine. Above all, use common sense with this product; it's corrosive, so wear rubber gloves and safety glasses, especially when cleaning. Second, the best conditions for use are on a cool, overcast day. You don't want the product drying on your wheels. It says leave it on for 3-5 minutes, but if you're cleaning like I'm supposed to, you can leave it on longer until it dries on the wheels. The active chemical seems to be about as busy as after 15 minutes. Then rinse them off with a garden hose spray nozzle and repeat the process. I had to apply, rub and rinse at least six times before my wheels were nearly clean. Again, my wheels were overly caked with baked-on brake dust. The cleaner your wheels are to begin with, the less effort is required. One more thing to keep in mind; Spraying this product on your wheels will definitely hit your rotors. For some reason it leaves a film that remains on your rotors even after you wash them. YOUR BRAKES MAY NOT WORK VERY WELL FOR A MINUTE! Just be careful; My brakes didn't grab everything when I pulled out of the driveway. It was very different than just wet brakes. I braked a few times while driving, everything was back to normal.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • The list goes on.
