Opinions were mixed on this but I decided to take a chance as our 2 small dogs quickly tore up the screen. I measured the hole in the doorway and rounded it according to the instructions. Pieces of the bottom filler fell out until he realized he had to press them firmly against the bottom edge of the door and then slide the top piece back into place. The pens have "teeth" that hold them in place and fit many hole sizes. There is a small gap on the sides, but it's held tight at the top and bottom. Our 2 little boys can't break the screen now and the door is much safer. When installing, simply measure, measure, measure. Very happy.
