Review on πŸ“± Enhanced CellPod Adapter Ensures Firm Smartphone Mounting on Tripod or Photo Mount by Victoria Robinson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

A flimsy, cheap implementation of the solid gold concept.

Great concept, poor execution, especially for the price. The adjustable sliding screws are a great idea, and the rubber mushroom pieces that squeeze down the sides of the phone are perfect. Unfortunately, the plastic backing that holds everything together is inexplicably thin and flexes like a playing card. And the nuts that tighten the bolts are also plastic, so they probably won't last long. That's probably all good if you don't need a lot of clamping force, such as when your tripod is standing still somewhere with no wind. But once you add movement to the equation, you have to tighten the screw position, and this causes the back to tilt uncomfortably. Even if I push myself in that hard, the back is still so wobbly that it can't be used as a car mount. Everything trembles like jelly. I'll probably take those rubber pieces out and stitch them together with stronger materials. I was expecting this to be around $2, but I paid over $12 for this thing and really expected more.
