I bought this drive bay to use a dedicated SSD as a boot drive for my Dell R420 server instead of an OS partition on a storage RAID array. Not only did this tray (MB411SPO-1B) fit my R420 perfectly, I was really impressed with the build quality. So far the bay isn't the bottleneck for my drive as I'm seeing full SATAIII speeds. Since I was able to move the boot partitions to the SSD, the server is much more stable and performs much better than before. Read/write intensive functions are now enhanced with SSD performance, and drives in RAID are isolated from constant OS activity. Highly recommended if you need a very clean and durable 2.5" drive bay instead of the traditional thin optical bay. I can't say for sure, but I can bet the same drive will also fit in the R620 and others that have it is the same Dell ODD.
