Review on Xbox 360 250GB Console Kinect by Jonathan Arroyo

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great exercise and really cool technology

We got the X Box 360 250GB with Kinect and Adventures Game on, then Dance Central and Your Shape Fitness Evolved separately. I'm certainly not a techie, but setting it up was easy for me. The Kinect sensor sits on top of our Dish Network DVR and really recognizes you when you're in front of it, and I really like that I don't have to hold anything to play. To be honest I've only played the Wii 3 times at a friend's but being a controller is great. On the X-Box console, it can sit on its side or lay flat, your choice. Kinect sees you, and if you move any part of your body incorrectly, the game sensor knows and lets you know. I just ordered the create game because you can sit down and use the controller when I want to be lazy and chill. You can only play Kinect when you're awake, active, and moving. If you get too close to the camera, you'll be asked to take a step back, and if you get too far, you'll return to the right place. It's really fun when the dogs come into view, they see them too, and I have to keep them out of the room when we're playing. do not imitate the teacher exactly. And I love that it's uplifting when you're not feeling well. Kinect is NOT for couch potatoes, which is why I bought it. Sometimes I'm very easily drawn to just sitting and watching TV. It forces you (if you want to play) to stand up, jump and move. The "Adventures" game that came with mine has something from rafting (a lot of jumping and tilting to steer the raft), a kind of Greek dodgeball game (sounds like a real ball and is fun, hitting him back and forth) and a game where you stop leaks like a little Dutch boy, except you're in an underwater elevator (there are a lot of arms and hands in this game). It's amazing to see how he reacts to your movements and gives you tips to improve. On the second day we all felt a bit nauseous, especially after so many weekends of dancing. A few helpful tips: make sure you have enough space to play, we've hit the ceiling fan many times and now you've got a slightly sprained ankle to show he wasn't paying enough attention to being out of shape anymore.
