I specifically chose this product for my fully healed conch piercing, as I have several other piercings with surgical steel jewelry and have never had any problems. However, within less than 24 hours of having this product in my (again fully healed) piercing, I was experiencing intense ear pain, swelling, and overall discomfort. I immediately took the jewelry out and cleaned the piercing site. Less than 6 hours after removing the item, my ear already felt and looked much better. I have never had any reaction to surgical steel or any type of plating of any kind of gold or silver. I also do not have any known metal allergies. I was able to put my previous titanium jewelry in the piercing without issue and the discomfort resolved quickly with no lingering issues with the piercing. I urge you to be very careful. I have several piercings and no known allergies to metals, as well as experience in ensuring a piercing is healed before changing jewelry and keeping the piercing clean.
