This is an amazing seat. It comes with clips on both ends which can be used as a simple beam or in an L shape to attach to a frame. It is really an "adaptation to your bike", not a direct, implied guide. I'm 6ft 7" and have no problem pedaling with our son in the seat. Yes, your knees should be slightly outside, but not too uncomfortable. By removing the large nut opposite the quick release lever, the saddle can be removed and you can ride the bike bareback (great feature). Heed the warning and do not overtighten the bolts that attach the seat to the frame.
