This is perfect for long car rides or when you need to keep them busy. If you're looking for quality photos, forget it! This is a wonderful toy and kids will love it because it can mimic mums and dads toys and also can do a lot more things they can't do. Children are NOT obsessed with pixel count and image quality. This should not be a factor in choosing things to fascinate them, especially if they are under 5 years old. My daughter is 3 years old. She takes pride in everything she does with this camera. But yes…. have adequate lighting. Please note this is NOT a touch screen. You need to learn to navigate using the side buttons. Remember. Also consider how spoiled we have all become from using touch screens. Touch screens are the norm, but we're still spoiled. :) This camera makes cute friendly noises, seems unbreakable as far as I can tell, takes front and back shots so YES they can take their own selfies and they don't have to take mom or dad's phone with them, comes with a 32 -GB card supplied. and a USB card slot for easy connection to a computer. Oh yeah…. also a strap. It also comes with games. For a while I was interested in playing Snake and Tetris. There are still one or two games left. All in all, this is a great product for satisfying a child's curiosity about the world of photography, as well as all those extra little things a child will appreciate. This is definitely the camera she will remember as her "first camera" as she gets older. That and how her father kept taking away her desire to play Tetris. Excellent work.
