how many cups in Accessories for Outdoor Sports and Recreation

OK - everyone asks how many cups and I wonder why manufacturers never list products by cup but by weight. Since they're containers, they have volume, so it doesn't make sense to me. I understand bags because they can break if overloaded. Anyway I'll break the math but I like the bag, it's very similar to a camping dry bag except it doesn't have a hard edge on one side like dry bags which I think will help seal it in, hence giving I give 4 stars for durability, but overall it's very well made. So volume - I used Purina Pro Puppy Focus dry food for this experiment. I filled it almost to the brim and it was really too full because I only got one roll out of a roll. It took 25 cups and the bag weighed 7.2 pounds. So it was overweight at maximum volume. Then I took out 5 cups, so I had 20 cups in total. 2 cups a day for my pup is 10 days food. There was a lot of fabric at the top to create the perfect closure and the bag weighed 5.8 pounds. I think it would be acceptable even if it's a bit more weight. That means a cup of food weighs 0.29 pounds (slightly less due to the bag's weight, but almost negligible). So that's just the density of Purina Pro Focus so your mileage will vary but I know this bag will comfortably hold a 10 day supply of groceries. cool product I would be interested to know why they didn't put a hard border on top.
