Review on Dynomax 41597 Flex Hardware Connector with Bushings by Darryl Blumenthal

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Inexpensive repair.

I used this Dynomax flex fitting to replace a welded flex fitting [that blew out after just a year] on the AFTERMARKET catalytic converter tube on my 1999 Pontiac Sunfire. Note: This Dynomax part was factory labeled "Walker 41597". My original GM exhaust pipe was about 1/8" smaller than the aftermarket pipe, so this 1.9" ID component had the correct ID to fit the aftermarket converter pipe. The original GM flex connector had a flexible fuse link that was incredibly corrosion resistant: 14 years after the car was built it was free of internal corrosion but was damaged when the exhaust system caught on something while driving. installed, didn't last very long, it rusted through. The Dynomax 41597 hardware connector installs easily and my machine sounds quiet again, but I expect to have to replace it again in less than 2 years.

Pros
  • Walker Flex Lock design keeps fittings tight
Cons
  • Some bugs
