We bought cheaper shoes for our kids because they are for kids but by midsummer they were worn out. I ended up paying the same amount I would have paid for a pair of more expensive shoes. So I took it easy and bought my first pair of Keen sandals for my then two year old. Love her! They are comfortable for him and work with socks if necessary. He's four years old now and hasn't worn a pair yet - he always outgrows them first.
