Polyester fill threads come out, seem uncertain

This sleeping bag was exactly what I was looking for (why are warm long sleeved sleeping bags so hard to find!?). But after just a month or so the PVC is coming out in long strands all over the place and I'm afraid my kid's fingers will get tangled in it and cut off circulation. This seems like a huge security risk and I'm surprised that such a product can exist. This is very bad because other warm sleeping bags are very expensive, but I think that in this case cost matters.
