Following all the other reviews I read before I got this.1. It works as advertised and quickly cleans your blades; usually in a few seconds. The instructions are clear and simple and all you have to do is dip the blades in liquid, turn on the clippers and the hair will come loose. Done.*Except* - also repeats many reviews -.2. It's a mess. This liquid is basically designed to glide over any surface, picking up particles like hair and then letting them slide out of the car. It works by having a very high viscosity and acting like an incredibly slippery lubricant. It slides through the razor blades and allows gravity to pull the hair out. But that means that if you touch the bottle at all, the liquid will have flowed out all over the outside of the bottle, the lid, your hands, the scissor handles, etc.; and any residue left on your clippers will seep onto the handle as well. It's really a mess. Now that I understand how it works, I don't think I would buy it again. That's because I'm a home hairstylist - I mainly use clippers to trim my own hair and trim my child's hair. I use the clippers once or twice a month at most. So when I close the (plastic) container and put it away at my barber shop, I put the stuff on top of everything and it pops out just by moving it in and out of the box. I just can't leave it in a separate place, ready for casual use. I love good tools and things designed to keep good tools in good shape, but I learned a valuable lesson from this: good tools and the infrastructure to maintain them still need, or will, have adequate storage infrastructure don't work well together. . Essentially, this only makes sense if you keep it in a specific spot on an accessible shelf and let the clippers dangle from the hook (where leftover liquid just dribbles down, away from the handle). In other words, this material is really made for real professional hairdressers - the ones who use the clipper again and again, all day, every day, week after week. If you have space at home that can be reserved for a similar installation, you don't have to worry about the clutter problem. But if you plan to swap it in and out and do the same with your clippers then pay attention to this review and know you can't avoid the mess factor and stock lots of towels or napkins. A better alternative for a casual barber like me might be to just use Andis Blade Lubricant, a small brush and a towel/napkin.
