Living in CO we not only get our fair share of cold days but windy days too. Our dog is a German Shorthaired Pointer mix and has a very fine coat. The legs are almost bare. He needs daily walks, but he can't stand the cold; His legs are shaking so much in the cold wind. I love this costume for him. Ideal weight for warmth without overheating. He is 43#, neck 16 inches, chest 28 inches and length 21 inches. I ordered size 55. Perfect. The only thing I would like to change is that there is no buttonhole on the back so I can attach the leash to his harness. I sew, so I do it myself. Otherwise I'd have to crush his neck, and I never do.
