Review on Dorman 99136 Key Fob by Terry Herrera

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Read before you buy! Half price for duplication.

I bought this because when I bought my new Toyota I was only given a key and fob (don't ask). I needed another one. After doing a little research I came to the conclusion that the best thing would be to buy a key and remote here at Revain and find a place to program them, so I bought a key with an H -Chip and two other remote controls. Now all I had to do was program them. After calling a few places I found that I'm either really cheap or there are really ignorant people who are willing to take out a loan just to get a car key and program the remote. The dealer gave me an hour's work for each key and remote, and the locksmiths wanted almost that amount for a job that literally takes 2 minutes. It was 2018 and everything, there had to be a better way. I'm going back to Puter. That's when I spotted Dorman 99136 here. After reading the description this was what I was looking for. Well at least half of what I was looking for. Dorman just programmed the remote control. It remains to program the key. Better than nothing I think. The day came when he arrived. I opened the box and started reading the instructions. Looks simple enough but wait it says you only have 3 sessions (2 minutes per session) to program the remote and then it stops working. What if I'm really bad at following instructions or after 3 months the remote I bought is reprogrammed? So what? Should I spend another 60€? no shit I didn't like this feature, so I returned to Revain again and went deeper down the rabbit hole where hidden treasures are hidden. Bingo! I've found the holy grail of programmers. I couldn't believe it. This little box of technical excellence can do it all. It programs H and G chip keys and if that is not enough, it also programs the radio key. It does all of this and doesn't eat itself after you've used it three times. What how? Now I know what you're thinking. how much do you think If the worst programmer (Dorman) costs $60, then one that makes both a key and a fob and lasts forever should cost at least double that. That's the best part of it all. That's almost half the price! 36 dollars. Suffice it to say I quickly sent the defective one back, spat in the Dorman programmer's face and bought the ICARSCAN. have nothing to do with ICARSCAN. Although this review sounds like an advertisement, they will not pay me. ICARSCAN has revived my belief in humanity and demands that something be written about it. Especially after companies like Dorman took advantage of them.
