Review on Fluidmaster 400AKRP10 400AKR Universal Install by Ben Daugherty

Okay I've been changing guts in toilets for decades and never had a problem before. I recently moved to a newer home and found I didn't recognize the inside of the fancy toilets they installed. And I shot. Having no idea what was in store for this other thing (looks like a giant black pipe that extends up to allow water to drain into a very large hole in the ground), I figured I'd do the whole thing just replace. with this attitude. Not so fast! This setup is budget friendly, but it's NOT an easy DIY job! To install, you must remove the entire tank! Hey, I've done enough plumbing to know THIS is going to hit you, and I'm not going to touch it with a ten foot pole. Especially when I have no idea what's already in there, or if it even goes with the stuff that's out there now. Attention buyers! This may or may not suit your installation, but if you're not feeling lucky and are willing to take on the very tall (and risky) task of removing the entire flush tank from your toilet, this is NOT for you. There's no way I can open this can of worms and will have a plumber do it before I do an experiment to see if I'm good enough and strong enough to take everything off and put it back on without effort. break it. I put this device in the back of my closet and will only dig it up as a last resort. Instead I carefully cleaned and adjusted all the parts on the back of the toilet - handles, chains, floats etc and it seemed to make a difference. It's only been a few hours but the constant running around seems to have died down and it's rinsing off better now. Time will tell, but I'll likely pay a plumber before I deal with this disaster that waits in the wings while elderly women sort through £50 toilet bowls. Yes. nope! Not me! .
