Works well as advertised.

I bought this test camera to replace the aftermarket camera that came with the main unit I installed that failed. This fitted perfectly into the old camera's mounting hole and came with a very long cable so I was able to install it like the previous camera without any additional connectors. The camera is set to have mirror and grid lines for use as a rear view camera, but can be changed to have neither grid lines nor mirror image or both depending on the application. The resolution is good and…

insane value for $$

has flaws but I wish it came with a better guide. Learn from your mistakes: I originally connected it as written, but after installing it on my new SONY head unit, when reversing and thus switching on the rear view camera via rear light current, it flickered, flashed and in the end only gas. . very annoying! I would have to choose to drive and back to drive backwards and finish my parking job. Solution: DISCONNECT the black GND on the power cable to the camera and it will work! otherwise decent

Read if you install on Ram 1500

The picture is not bad for a cheap camera. There are no instructions. Installed on a 2015 RAM 1500. A few tips: do not connect the ground wire that goes to the camera and if you connect to the reverse lights do not connect the wire that goes to the tail lights or you will not get one Image and canbus error with the turn signals on either side you connect to. Instead, touch the reversing light wire on the 7-pin trailer connector. This is the middle wire of the connector. Also, wires are very…

Not waterproof for me!

Update: I have contacted Raayoo to share my disappointment. They asked for a photo of the camera and a picture on the main unit and promptly offered to replace or return the money. I decided on a new camera and have since installed it. Let's hope it's completely sealed. Now I see where the link to the week is. The lens is screwed into the camera body. I see black sealing at this point. If this connection is not completely tight, water will seep into the lens. Again, hope this one is fully…

It's just perfect!: Car electronics

Installed the camera in the rear bumper and routed the cables through the bumper into the spare tire well. Drilling a hole in the bumper and in the well required a 1/2" x 14" bit, I just had one on hand. The rest of the wiring to the receiver is routed under the side moldings of the front and rear doors below. Mounting the camera without a bracket allows you to flush mount it, virtually invisible when you don't know where to look. Plug everything in and turn on the radio, flip it backwards so…

TO UPDATE. Refer to the included instructions for grounding cut wires

My overall rating is low because of the instructions included. My initial "free" setup was very promising, great packaging, a camera that produced a clear image. After tightening/cleaning everything, hiding and securing the wiring, my problems started. The instructions that came with it called for cutting the green wire (for use as a front camera) that would flip the video horizontally, which worked. He also pointed out that the wire that was cut should be grounded and then my ram truck started

Clear and easy to install. - Hole saw set

This is a fantastic little rear view camera. It's not the fanciest or most feature-rich camera, but for the price it does what you expect it to and does it flawlessly. I connected this camera to a rear view mirror/monitor of an old model car. There was no camera. Everything works and should. Pressing the reversing lights activates the camera when needed, and the resolution is easy to see on such a small screen. The instructions are clear and simple, but I'd like to add a few things that might…

Works well if you know how to use a soldering iron and the wiring.

Almost what I expected. I think most license plate cameras look cheesy. I soldered a hot wire and grounded it to my car's reverse light (so it only lights up when reversing). Installation was easy and took about 2 hours to install on my truck. Most of the time was spent laying the cable. I routed the cable through the factory braid for a professional look. Running the cable through my truck's firewall was the most time consuming part of the install (as I expected), wiring to my car stereo was…

For the price this is a pretty good backup camera that also has the ability to "backup -Remove 'lines' from the image and can also 'mirror' the image when used as a front view camera. I needed a cheap backup camera to use as the inside rear view mirror in my van (to check on the kids) and ordered a "1/4" uxcell flush mount CCD backup camera" but wasn't with this camera satisfied. I couldn't turn off the backup lines in the image and the image was grainy. RAAYOO was much better. I ordered 3 of…
