I love these gloves definitely a puncher glove the great wrist support of the 16oz sparring gloves would be much less as you can definitely hurt your sparring partner - Partner with them. As for break in time, I used them on the bag for 2-3 weeks, no longer recommend as they are more suited to bags than sparring. They're a bit pricey I'd say, but you can't argue with the quality. They will serve you for many years. I have seen the pair used for sparring for about 3 years and still appeared to be in good condition.
