Haven't really used them yet other than driving down the road to make sure they fit. HOWEVER, the customization itself was a HUGE issue, hence this review. When deciding to buy a K-Summit chain, the website has a nice 'decision tree' that guided me to the right tire size for my Toyota Corolla, at least I thought so. But when the chains arrived and I followed the fairly simple instructions (although text would have been helpful as some other reviewers pointed out [the instructions are 100% visual, which is fine but not perfect]), the chains were too tight/ wrap briefly. Going around the tire and going forward didn't make it as shown on the video website. So I removed more, then more links, until finally, after a few car lengths, the chain rolled forward over the tire. But now I was worried they might be too loose so I called the company and they admitted that the tire size decision tree suggests you use them instead of regular all-season radial tires (nothing was specified) and not by Mount winter tires. . The rep I spoke to said there was probably more snow and therefore I had to remove more links than the guide recommended. We had a bit of a snowy year in New Hampshire, so I never got to see them perform in the snow, but thought the information above would be useful nonetheless. Aside from the customization issue, all other steps and components worked flawlessly. One other thing though is that the website doesn't list which cleat adapters come with the chainrings and it is implied that the one I need will NOT be there so I purposely have a separate 21mm adapter Bought. When the chains arrived they had various sized adapters with additional grommets including one that I ordered separately. Luckily it was very easy to return the unopened extra adapter to Revain and the one that came with the chains worked great. I'm waiting for snow this year to see this product in action. UPDATE to my previous review (three stars). I've used them about 6 times, mostly to drive up a fairly steep 1 mile hill to my house. In a word, they did a great job! (five stars) Every time they hugged the tire safely and pulled my trusty Toyota Corolla through the heavy, unploughed snow (the last about 9 inches) that I would never have gotten through without them. During the last storm (2-13-14) I put my chains on about 3 miles from my house because the streets were barely cleared. Didn't go more than 30mph the whole way but no skid, no skid, just straight. When I got to my hill, I didn't give up. I think the problem with these tires for those who gave them 1 or 2 stars is that they never fitted them properly and that caused "crash problems". In my previous review (before I even used it) I described my problem with mounting it on my SNOW tires (probably Thule didn't recommend or expect this), but once I got THAT right, "chains" were Great. Interestingly, I've noticed that the price has increased slightly since I bought mine (@$315, now down to around $440). A tip for road mounting is to use a small hammer to drive the wheel hub adapter firmly and fully onto the nut. I was able to do this every time by tapping and squeezing with the included wrench, but it would be nice if I could hold the wrench on one edge and tap with a hammer or other hard object (rock?). The only glitches I had was when the nose didn't go all the way into the nut, but I figured it would. When this happened as I turned the ratchet the nose came loose. The problem was obvious, so I solved it pretty quickly. And one more thing: do not throw the key in deep fluffy snow! It will take some time to find, which is NOT fun in cold weather. :-(
