If you want to explore the sky, don't choose her. They're just too powerful to actually find things. You can't keep them still enough to be useful. I used the adapter in the box to mount mine on a tripod and after scanning and locking the tripod settings it takes about 2 minutes for the vibrations to settle down so you can see what you wanted. By then, the ground has rotated enough that you'll have to move them again. Also, this Skymaster model doesn't feel like a high-end Celestron. I can't get to the point where I can find the signal star object in the same spot in the right and left lenses to be comfortable with either eye. I end up using it more like a monocular. It's not bad for the moon, but it is. I was able to confirm seeing the 4 major moons of Jupiter and the elongated shape of Saturn (that's how it rings - no clarity) and I saw the missing screw in the roof vent on the roof of the neighboring house 3 houses down. That's all I can say is a plus of this purchase. Then I'll buy a smaller star for stargazing and maybe start looking through a real telescope.
