Vacuum suction hooks work very well
I used one in the kitchen to serve a tea towel so it was much closer to the sink. I first tried attaching a hook to a wooden closet door but the surface wasn't smooth enough to stick. Then I tried it on the dishwasher door and it held up really well. To use these hooks effectively, you need to stick them to a very smooth and non-porous surface. So metal, vermic or glass is the best material for these hooks.
