These sanding strips are cloth backing sandpaper. The packaging they come in is also a handy dispenser that you can use to pull out the length you want and then gently tear along the metal cutter on the box. The supplied grits range from 150 grit to 600 grit in 5 levels. I use it exclusively for finishing projects that I have turned on my wood lathe. It does its job very well and gives the project a very smooth and attractive finish. I highly recommend it.
