As others have noted, the 5/16" hose that comes with this cooler is undersized. The Derale includes a 5/16" transmission hose, but attaching to the transmission cooler nipples is fine a real must. IMO they should have included a 3/8" host instead. It took a few minutes to attach the hoses (even after lubricating the connections with gear oil) and in the end I decided I was uncomfortable with stretched rubber. I ended up going to my local auto parts store and bought a 5ft 3/8" transmission hose that worked great with the clamps that came with it. As for my specific application, I installed the cooler on a 2008 Silverado 1500 and it seems to be working fine. I couldn't bolt the cooler on as it was too big for the brackets in front of the AC condenser. I ended up using 8 heavy duty zips and was able to secure them very well. If you are installing on a GM product you will need a Hayden Coolers 397 transmission fitting to adapt to GM fittings (the included fitting will not work) so you will need to spend another $7-9 for an adapter fitting and another $8. -10 for new hoses. It would be 5 stars if Derale included a 3/8" hose that actually fits into their own radiator and you had to stretch the included 5/16" hose.
