I bought two of these because most of my accessories don't move or adjust freely and I really need the freedom to move/rotate/tilt my stuff to better suit my needs, whether on the camera or the tripods. These things really work and for the price you can't beat them. I think it's a good accessory to buy even if you don't need it yet because eventually you will need it.
