I bought this for my 10 year old daughter and it was going to be her star gift this year. She has a fridge box and other large boxes that she has built a fort out of, but I was hoping to replace them with something even lighter that I could keep and that she and her friends are made out of to build various forts . I have read. many reviews and now i'm frankly confused by them. It wasn't that easy to put together. My daughter and her friend were incredibly upset and gave up after an hour. My fiancé and I got into it and no wonder they fought! It was actually very difficult to get some of the poles through the holes and the poles are incredibly fragile. Some even ended up breaking just trying to put them in the holes, even being very careful and following the directions so the top was up (which my daughter marked with a marker so it was actually easy to see because it wasn't). . Even between two adults who are great with tools and their hands, it was difficult to get even the basic shape of the house to stand. We had to mistake things for each other just to try to put the pieces in place, and as we did that, other pieces came out, although initially they were insanely difficult to fit. I went through the instructions several times to find something I missed, but no. We used them exactly as intended. The bars can barely support the weight of the link balls themselves, so a lot of extra parts were required (not enough for this price point) to create extra sturdy legs. We covered it with the lightest blankets (sheets) we could find, worried that the weight would be too much and that a simple kick from a child could bring the whole thing down. Honestly I am very disappointed with this and wish I had bought a more expensive set. The reviews I've read that talk about quality and ease of use confuse me because they don't match our experience with this kit at all.
