I bought this bin on January 12, 2008 so it's 10 years old. It still works fine. I didn't buy a power pack and I've only had to change the batteries in it 4 times in 10 years. I live in New England and we have periods of high humidity in the summer. As a result, the stainless steel has started to develop light rust spots due to the humid summer environment, but this is to be expected with stainless steel. I was very happy with this purchase and would buy another one without hesitation!
