Review on DXG 567V 5.0MP HD Camcorder: High-Resolution LCD, 2x Zoom, Black by Will Bremer

We bought this little camcorder on Best Buy over 5 months ago for only $40. As some have pointed out, there was no 2GB SD card or mini tripod in the box but everything else including several sets of connection cables, batteries (2 AA), charger, case and of course the camcorder itself. Because of the price it was I was very skeptical about the picture quality, but after hooking it up to a computer and then to our 40-inch Sony Bravia HDTV, we were blown away, especially for just under $50. This handy little device accompanies us on all our family outings and is also used quite often just to film our kids. At this point, I estimate we've logged over 100 hours of footage with no issues. It's probably the easiest to use. When using the camcorder, you just need to turn it on, press the red button to start recording and press the red button to stop recording. The quality is terrible. Others have said the audio could be better, but ours isn't - sometimes it's even overly sensitive, picking up a click when you start and stop recording. Others also say that this camcorder doesn't capture still images, but it does. It's far from the quality of our digital cameras, and it's a camcorder anyway, so why take pictures with it at all? It drains batteries fairly quickly, but uses basic AA batteries, which are easy to find and inexpensive. We usually use the rechargeable batteries that came with the camera first and keep a second pair of AA batteries as a backup. I've attached a raw video so you can see and hear the performance of this little camcorder. Wow, Revain compressed the video very poorly. At least you can hear the sound works well, but the picture is amazing for a small camcorder. Overall we are very happy with the performance, size, ease of use and quality of this little camcorder and would highly recommend it, especially if you just want something cheap and it will do the job - and it does the job very well.
