Review on ALED LIGHT® Adapter Regulated Supply by Matt Watkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well; Longer cable required

This is a decent power source for use with LED power modules. I use a pair of these adapters with a pair of LEDENET® 2.4G 4-Zone LED Wireless RF RGBW Controllers (http://smile.amazon.com/LEDENET%C2%AE-4-Zone-Wireless-Controller- Dimmable/dp/ B00MGTVOVW). The adapter fits very snugly into the DC adapter port on the controllers. It was capable of driving an array of 150 warm white LEDs or 150 RGB color LEDs at full power with ease. However, not everything is so good. I've made a few LED floor lamps and the cord on this power supply is very short. This adapter is advertised with a cable length of 110 cm (approx. 43 inches) (or 1.2 m depending on where you read it in the description). I measured it at around 34 inches (86 cm). Even if you factor in the length of the tip and transformer, it's not even close. This is important for floor lamps. In addition, the devices have very bright blue LED lights built into the wall wart. It's brighter than the LEDs it drives when I've dimmed them. A small piece of tape covered it up pretty well though.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
